In-Depth Information
Shopping is a popular pastime in Taormina, particularly on Corso Umberto I. Here you'll
find inviting delis and attractive boutiques selling high-quality ceramic goods, lace and
linen tableware, antique furniture and jewellery.
CERAMICS
Carlo Mirella Panarello
(Via Antonio Marziani)
Sicily has a long tradition of ceramic production and this is a good bet
for original ceramic designs. The workshop is on Via A Marzani (ring the bell for admis-
sion), while around the corner on Corso Umberto I, the shop sells more traditional jew-
ellery, bags and hats.
La Torinese
FOOD, WINE
(Corso Umberto 59)
This is a fantastic place to stock up on local olive oil, capers, marmalade,
honey and wine. Smash-proof bubble wrapping helps to bring everything home in one
piece.
