Stromboli & the Sciara del Fuoco

You're allowed to hike this trail unaccompanied, as the viewpoint sits below the 400m 'restricted' level.
Leave the port two to three hours before sundown. This allows you to arrive at the viewpoint around sunset and
watch the volcano's fireworks juxtaposed against the darkening sky. Make sure to bring a torch (flashlight); it's
absolutely essential for the return hike.
From the port, walk up Via Roma towards Stromboli's main square, stopping in for homemade ice cream at
Lapillo Gelato
