buses across the island, from Porto di Levante to Porto di Ponente (€1.55), Piano and
Capo Grillo (€2, 20 minutes, approximately seven daily Monday to Saturday, two Sunday)
and to Gelso (€2.30, 40 minutes, approximately three daily). There's a timetable posted at
the beginning of Via Provinciale, near Ritrovo Remigio. Buy tickets on the bus. If you're
going to the beaches at Gelso, ask the driver to let you off at the dirt track.

cycles (from €5) and cars (from €40) are available from this friendly outfit near the port
(follow the signs or just ask for Luigi). Multilingual owners Luigi and Nidra speak Eng-
lish, French and German and offer a wealth of tips for exploring the island. They also rent
out an apartment (€40 to €70) in Vulcano's tranquil interior.
