Getting There & Around
BICYCLE & SCOOTER
This is the best way to get around Favignana, giving you access to all the little coves and
beaches dotting the island. The port area is swarming with places offering bikes, scooters
and motorbikes for hire. Bicycle hire in the high season costs approximately €10 per day;
scooter hire €35 to €45. Prices are cut nearly in half during low season.
BUS
Tarantola runs orange buses (€1) to various points around the island. There are three dif-
ferent routes, all of which originate at Piazza Marina near the main port in Favignana
town. Schedules are posted at Piazza Marina and at Favignana's tourist office.
TOP OF CHAPTER
Levanzo
There are two main reasons to visit Levanzo: to examine the prehistoric cave paintings at
the Grotta del Genovese, and to spend some time swimming off the island's pebbly
beaches.
