operates services to Agrigento (€11.80, 2¾ to 3½ hours, three daily Monday to Saturday,
one on Sunday). Segesta ( 0923 2 84 04; www.segesta.it ) runs express buses connecting Trapani
with Palermo (€9, two to 2¼ hours, at least every hour between 5.30am and 8pm). Note
that all services decrease dramatically on Sundays, as well as on public holidays and from
October to May.
PARKING
There are plenty of parking spaces at the port and near the train station. Purchase tickets
from the machines on the street (prices range from €0.50 to €0.80 per hour, with rates in-
creasing as you get closer to the city centre).
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Tickets for local ATM buses - valid for 90 minutes - cost €1 at tabacchi (tobacco shops)
or €1.20 if purchased on board the bus. The Trapani Welcome Card (€12), available at the
tourist information office and some hotels, covers one return trip on the Erice funicular
and one three-day local bus pass.
TRAIN
From Trapani's train station, 1km east of the centre on Piazza Umberto, trains run to
Palermo (€8, 2½ hours, five daily), Marsala (€3.45, 30 minutes, 10 daily) and Mazara del
Vallo (€4.65, 50 minutes, 14 daily).
