Al Solito Posto
( 0923 2 45 45; www.trattoria-alsolitoposto.com ; Via Orlandini 30; meals €20-35; closed Sun & 15-31 Aug) A
15-minute walk east of the centre, this wildly popular trattoria is a well-deserved wearer
of the Slow Food badge. From superb primi (try the trademark busiate con pesto alla
trapanese ) to super-fresh seafood secondi (don't miss the local tuna in May and June) to
the creamy-crunchy homemade cannoli , everything is top-notch. It's wise to book in ad-
vance.

( 0923 2 16 95; www.labettolaccia.it ; Via Enrico Fardella 25; meals €30-45; closed Sat & Sun lunch all year,
plus Sun dinner Nov-Easter) An unwaveringly authentic, Slow Food favourite, this centrally loc-
ated eatery just two blocks from the ferry terminal is the perfect place to try cous cous con
zuppa di mare (couscous with mixed seafood in a spicy fish sauce, with tomatoes, garlic
and parsley). In response to its great popularity, the dining room was expanded in 2013,
but it's still wise to book ahead.

( 0923 87 24 18; www.ailumi.it ; Corso Vittorio Emanuele 73-77; meals €30-40; closed Tue Oct-May) Con-
verted from an 18th-century stable block, this tavern is rustic to the core. Exposed brick-
work, heavy wooden furniture and huge arches lend the dining room great character, while
the outside terrace, in the heart of historic Trapani, is delightful on summer evenings. The
menu features plenty of fresh seafood along with superbly prepared Trapanese classics.
