Although the narrow network of streets in Trapani's historic centre is Moorish, the city
takes most of its character from the fabulous 18th-century baroque of the Spanish period.
A catalogue of examples can be found down pedestrianised Via Garibaldi, most notably

giata (evening stroll) is in full swing.
Another busy place during passeggiata is Corso Vittorio Emanuele, which is punctu-
ated by the huge Cattedrale di San Lorenzo OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP ( 8am-4pm) , with its
baroque facade. At the east end of the corso is another baroque concoction, the Palazzo Sen-
