Barcelona's co-patron saint is celebrated with fervour in this massive four-day fest. The
city stages sporting events, free concerts, human towers of

Festa Major de la Barceloneta
Barcelona's other big September celebration honours the local patron saint, Sant Miquel,
on 29 September. It lasts about a week and involves plenty of dancing and drinking, espe-
cially on the beach.
