Museu-Monestir de Pedralbes ( Click

Founded in the 14th century by Queen Elisenda of Montcada for the Poor Clares, this
peaceful convent feels like a world removed from the bustling 21st-century city beyond its
gates. The three-storey cloister is an exquisite work of Catalan Gothic architecture. Enter
the medieval building and wander through the refectory, kitchens, stables, stores and recon-
structed infirmary - all of which give a good idea of convent life. Upstairs, a small collec-
tion of monastery art completes the time travel with works by Catalan artists dating back to
the Middle Ages.
