Come to the mountain. The trip to the city's highest peak, Tibidabo, is an old-style family
outing that bursts with nostalgia. The panoramic vistas are themselves a fine reward and
the amusement-park rides are a retro trip to fun parks of yore. One of the best parts of the
experience is getting here. Take the old tram that rattles along an avenue lined with
Modernista mansions. Then hop aboard the funicular for a speedy ascent to the top, where
the city and sea spread out beneath you.
