Eating
CAFETERIA €
(meals €15-20; lunch noon-4pm) At this central self-service spot you can grab a sandwich or
more substantial mains: calamares a la romana (deep-fried calamari rings), meatballs, bur-
gers - the usual suspects.
Fast Food
Sitges
Sitges is perfect for seafront promenading and sun worshipping, so in warmer weather
you'll find the most central beaches quite crowded. Luckily, there are quite a few to choose
from, so pick your spot for a morning of sunbathing (or skinny dipping off the nudist
beach) before choosing a seafood restaurant nearby.
If you have an interest in contemporary art and in the modernism (Catalan Art Nouveau)
movement, the Museu Cau Ferrat ( Click here ) is well worth an hour of your time in the
afternoon, followed by a central tapas bar for an afternoon drink. If you're particularly
hardcore, you will then stay on and party until daybreak at one of the many clubs on the
outskirts of town.
Getting There & Away
Car The best road from Barcelona is the C-32 tollway. More scenic is the C-31, which
hooks up with the C-32 after Castelldefels, but it is often busy and slow.
Train Four R2 rodalies trains an hour, from about 6am to 10pm, run from Barcelona's Pas-
seig de Gràcia and Estació Sants to Sitges (€3.60, 27 to 46 minutes depending on stops).
