BASILICA
(admission €5; 7.30am-8pm) From Plaça de Santa Maria, you enter the courtyard of the
16th-century Renaissance basilica. Stairs lead to the narrow Cambril de la Mare de Déu
(
Church
7-10.30am & noon-6.30pm) , which houses La Moreneta.
SANT JERONI
You can explore the mountain above the monastery on a web of paths leading to some of
the peaks and to 13 empty and picturesquely dilapidated hermitages. The Sant Joan fu-
nicular (one way/return €5.05/8; every 20min 10am-6.50pm, closed Jan & Feb) will carry you up
the first 250m from the monastery. If you prefer to walk, the road past the funicular's bot-
tom station leads to its top station in about one hour (3km).
