Av Tibidabo) A great place for a meal after visiting Tibidabo, El Asador de Aranda is set
in a striking art nouveau building, complete with stained-glass windows, Moorish-style
brick arches and elaborate ceilings. You'll find a fine assortment of tapas plates for shar-
ing, though the speciality is the meat (roast lamb, spare ribs, beef), beautifully prepared in
a wood oven.

Many barcelonins have long claimed that Bar Tomàs is by far the best place in the city for
patates braves (potato chunks in a slightly spicy tomato sauce), prepared here with a spe-
cial variation on the traditional sauce. The place is a rough-edged bar, but that doesn't stop
the well-off citizens of Sarrià piling in, particularly for lunch on weekends.
