Park Güell, Camp Nou & La Zona Alta Highlights
Imagine a Disney fairy tale, scripted by Tolkien and filmed by Fellini, and you've conjured
a picture of Park Güell. The park's construction was initiated in 1900 when Count Eusebi
Güell bought a scrubby hillside and hired Antoni Gaudí to create a miniature city of posh
houses in landscaped grounds. The project was a commercial flop, but the abandoned site
was saved in the 1920s and soon garnered a dedicated following.
