La Pedrera ( Click here )
One of Passeig de Gràcia's most captivating Modernista structures, La Pedrera is in the top
tier of Gaudí's achievements. Officially called Casa Milà after its owners, it was nicknamed
La Pedrera (The Stone Quarry) by bemused locals who watched Gaudí build it from 1905
to 1910. Conceived as an apartment block, it bears all the trademarks of Gaudí: swirling
staircases, hallucinogenic curves and not a straight line in sight.
