For a long time, La Ciutadella was the city's only green space and it still serves as a vital
setting for a bit fresh air for residents living in the narrow lanes of the Ciutat Vella. Aside
from offering the standard diversions of walking, jogging and lounging on the grass for an
afternoon siesta, the park has a zoo, a GaudÃesque fountain, curious sculptures and the
Catalan parliament.
