La Ribera Highlights
Barcelona rarely stands still, especially in El Born, the tight grid of streets south of Carrer
de la Princesa that has been transformed into its most à la mode neighbourhood. Passeig del
Born and the Plaça de Santa María del Mar are the hottest strips: trendy boutiques merge
with hip bars, specialist shops and experimental cuisine. The renaissance began in the
1990s but shows no signs of abating.
