El Raval Highlights
Usually referred to by its acronym MACBA, the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona,
set on Plaça de Ángels (a hangout for local skateboarders), is stuffed with over seven dec-
ades' worth of modern art. This is the place to view the cutting edge of the contemporary
scene in rooms flooded with natural light, courtesy of huge south-facing windows. Catalan
and Spanish paintings form the backbone of the collection.
