La Rambla
Continue west to Barcelona's liveliest pedestrian boulevard ( Click here ) . As you stroll
south, you'll walk over a striking Miró mural and pass the Gran Teatre del Liceu , Bar-
celona's famous opera house.
Plaça Reial
Turn down the small lane leading into Plaça Reial ( Click here ) , one of Barcelona's pret-
tiest squares.
Sinagoga Major
Make your way northeast to the atmospheric, narrow lanes of El Call , the medieval Jew-
ish quarter until a bloody pogrom of 1391. The Sinagoga Major ( Click here ) , one of
Europe's oldest, was discovered in 1996.
Roman Temple
Head across Plaça de Sant Jaume and turn left after Carrer del Bisbe. You'll soon pass the
remnants of a Roman temple , with four columns hidden in a small courtyard.
Plaça del Rei
The final stop is Plaça del Rei . The former palace houses a superb history museum (
