The elegant Plaça Reial is wonderfully recuperative after wandering the narrow, sometimes
pungent streets of the medieval quarter. Outdoor cafes and restaurants set beneath the ar-
cades draw a relaxed crowd by day, while after dark the plaza becomes a hidden hive of
candlelit restaurants and clubs. A trickling fountain, intricately sculpted street lamps and
occasional live music sets the scene.
