Getting There & Around
AIR
NatureAir ( GOOGLE MAP ; 2735-5428; www.natureair.com ; 6am-2pm) and Sansa (
GOOGLE MAP ; 2735-5890; www.flysansa.com ) have daily flights to/from San José; one-way
flights are approximately US$130.
Alfa Romeo Aero Taxi ( GOOGLE MAP ; 8632-8150; www.alfaromeoair.com ) has light
aircraft (for three and five passengers) for charter flights to Golfito, Carate, Drake, Sirena,
Palmar Sur, Quepos and Limón. Prices are dependent on the number of passengers, so it's
best to try to organize a larger group if you're considering this option. Sometimes, if
there's already a trip planned into the park, the cost can be as low as US$60 per person.
BOAT
Several fast ferries travel to Golfito (US$6, 30 minutes), departing at 6am, noon and 2pm
daily. Double-check current schedules, as they change often and without notice.
Alternatively, you could opt to hire a private water taxi to shuttle you across the bay.
You will have to negotiate, but prices are generally reasonable, especially considering that
you set the schedule. Fortunately, waters in the Golfo Dulce are sheltered and generally
calm, though it's still good to have a reasonable degree of faith in the seaworthiness of
both your captain and his ship before you set out.
Taboga Aquatic Tours ( GOOGLE MAP ;
8379-0705, 2735-5265; www.tabogatours.com )
runs water taxis to Zancudo for about US$50.
