All buses begin and end at Ginger Café, 100m south of Cuesta Arriba hostel; you can flag
the bus down anywhere along the road up to Frank's Place, at which point buses turn left
and head inland toward Cóbano.
A direct bus from Mal País to San José via the Paquera ferry departs at 6am and 2pm
(US$13, six hours). Local buses to Cóbano (US$2, 45 minutes) depart at 7am and noon.
A taxi to or from Cóbano costs approximately US$32. Taxis between Mal País, Playa el
Carmen and Santa Teresa range from US$4 to US$8. A taxi to the ferry in Paquera is
US$55.
