With a lovely mosaic-bottomed pool and breezy restaurant at the top of the hill, this
Dutch-run hotel is a great place for a beer in the evenings. Fan-cooled rooms are crowded
but reasonably clean. Ask for one on the second level for more light and outstanding
views. Big discounts for backpackers; just ask.

On the banks of the peaceful Río Sapoa, a half-dozen quaint cabins are surrounded by 68
hectares of tropical forest and farmland. The family
finca
includes cattle and horses, as
well as oranges, passion fruit and loads of other tempting fruit trees, making for amazing
bird-sighting opportunities. Hearty, home-cooked meals are available.
The

is about 5km north of La Cruz in Sonzpote. It's a perfect place to recover from
