Museo de San José Orosi MUSEUM
( 2533-3051; admission US$1; 1-5pm Tue-Sat, 9am-5pm Sun)
Adjacent to Orosi's church, this small museum displays interesting examples of Spanish-
colonial religious art and artifacts, some of which date back to the 17th century.
Activities
Being in a volcanic region means that Orosi has the perks of thermal springs. Though not
on the scale of the steaming-hot waters found near Fortuna, Orosi does offer a pair of
warm water-pool complexes. Balneario de Águas Termales Orosi ( 2533-2156;
www.balnearioaguastermalesorosi.com ; admission US$4; 7:30am-4pm Wed-Mon) is the nicer
and more centrally located of the two, with four pools of varying sizes flanked by grassy
expanses and a shaded bar-restaurant terrace. Los Patios ( 2533-3009;
www.facebook.com/BalnearioDeAguasTermalesLosPatios ; admission US$5; 8am-4pm Tue-Sun) is
a larger complex 1.5km south of town, whose waters include a 43°C (109.4°F) therapeutic
pool suitable for adults only.
The town is also a perfect base from which to explore Parque Nacional Tapantí-Macizo
Cerro de la Muerte, which offers excellent bird-watching and some lovely hikes, or to rock
climb in nearby Cachi.
Aventuras Orosi RAFTING
( 2533-4000; www.aventurasorosicr.com ; 9am-4pm)
Operated by the charming Luis, who served as a guide for the venerable Ríos Tropicales
rafting company for years, this small outfit organizes canopy tours and rafting expeditions
(US$75 each, $115 for both), as well as custom itineraries.
Xplore Orosi ADVENTURE SPORTS
( 2574-3504; www.xplore-orosi.com ; 8am-4pm Tue-Sun)
On the road to Paraíso, about 4km south of Orosi, this new outfit specializes in adrenaline
sports, including a canopy tour, a Tarzan swing, rappeling and bungee jumping.
