In-situ testing methods
In-situ permeability testing in soil is described in Section 5.13. In general pump-out in-situ
tests, are the preferred method of estimating permeability, because the effects of the soil
structure and fabric are properly accounted for. Pump-in in-situ tests are potentially inac-
curate as described in Section 5.13.
