Oracle Fusion Applications' security is based on roles. These roles are the aggrega-
tion of atomic security privileges that are grouped together in various combinations.
Since roles are a fundamental aspect of Oracle Fusion Applications, we will review
different kinds of roles and the hierarchy in which they work.
Roles in Oracle Fusion Applications
Oracle Fusion Applications provides the following roles:

Job
roles
This is an aggregation of roles that defines the profile of a business user.
These roles are logical groupings of business functions at the highest
level.
Abstract
roles
These roles cannot be directly assigned to an end user. They are used to
create logical security blocks, which are then further grouped together.
Duty
roles
These roles are the most granular. They carry entitlements to business
functions and related data.
Data
roles
These roles provide explicit entitlements to data.
