Getting There & Away
» Bus Tivoli is 30km east of Rome and is accessible by Cotral bus from outside the
Ponte Mammolo station on metro line B (€2.20, every 15 minutes, 50 minutes). It's best to
buy a 3-Zone BIRG ticket (€8), which will cover you for the whole day.
The easiest way to visit both sites is to visit the Villa D'Este first, as it is close to Tivoli
town centre. Then take the bus back towards Ponte Mammolo from Largo Garibaldi, ask-
ing the driver to stop close to Villa Adriana. After visiting the villa, you can then catch the
bus (€2.20, every 15 minutes, 50 minutes) on to Ponte Mammolo.
Note that traffic is usually heavy on the route, so it's likely to take longer than the offi-
cial times quoted here.
» Car Take either Via Tiburtina (SS5) or the faster Rome-L'Aquila autostrada (A24).
» Train From Stazione Tiburtina (€2.60, 40 minutes to one hour 20 minutes, at least
hourly).
