Many of the galleries and museums in this area have excellent on-site cafes. Other-
wise, the drinking scene is centred on Piazzale Ponte Milvio, a popular hangout for
north Rome's young well-to-do crowd.

(Ponte Milvio 44; 6pm-2am Apr-Oct; Ponte Milvio) A local landmark, this tiny green kiosk next
to the Ponte Milvio bridge has been open since the 1920s and is perennially popular, with
lots of pavement tables. It might look like a shack - in fact, it is a shack - but the mojitos
are the business and they do an excellent thirst-quenching grattachecca (a chipped ice
drink flavoured with fruit syrup).

groove since 1965, Piper just keeps on going. Very popular with young partygoers from the
wealthy Parioli district - particularly on Friday nights - it's primarily a disco but it also
hosts funky theme nights and stages some great gigs. Previous performers have included
White Lies, Nitin Sawney, Babyshambles and Pete Yorn.
