An authentic neighbourhood hang-
out, Linari has the busy clatter of a good bar, with excellent pastries, splendid coffee and
plenty of barside banter. There are some outside tables, ideal for a cheap lunch (pastas and
main courses €5.50/6.50), but you'll have to arm-wrestle the neighbourhood ladies to get
one.

the day, this innocuous bar on the edge of Testaccio's nightlife strip is a popular pre-club-
bing stop. Groups of dressed-up clubbers gather here to decide their next move and grab a
beer in the tiny, tangerine interior.
