As you enter the chapel, it's difficult not to be rooted to the spot, but for the best views head over to the far (east)
wall and the chapel's main entrance.
Michelangelo's ceiling design - which took him four years to complete - covers the entire 800-sq-metre surface.
With painted architectural features and a colourful cast of biblical figures, it centres on nine central panels depict-
ing the Creation, Adam and Eve, the Fall, and the plight of Noah.
