ali) The best option in the touristy Forum area, this stylish wine- bar-cum-restaurant show-
cases food from the surrounding Lazio region. There's a full daily menu of pastas and
mains, as well as finger foods, wine by the glass and evening aperitifs. Service is friendly
and the location overlooking the Colonna di Traiano is wonderfully atmospheric. Lunch-
time is busy but it quietens down in the evening.

school, family-run trattoria near the Colosseum is not the place for a romantic dinner or a
special-occasion splurge, but if you're after a good earthy meal after a day's sightseeing, it

yellowing, woody interior visiting businessmen cut deals over osso buco and tiramisu.
