4. Now you've come to the ear. Again, a simple planar map will work well here ( Fig-
ure 8.57 ) , but unwrap the UVs that are behind the ear.

Hair UVs
The inner layers of the hair already have some basic mapping applied to them. This will
allow us to use a single texture to map all of them.
Outer Hair
The only area needing attention here is the outer layer of hair.
1. As shown in Figure 8.58 , apply planar mapping to the outer layers on both sides
of the hair, projecting along the X axis.
