Giant arborvitae used for timber has
many more wood rots than those listed.
Oriental arborvitae in the South often looks
as if blighted by fire, with nursery losses
higher than in gardens. A copper spray,
monthly from June to September, controls this
blight. In the Northwest Coryneum berckmansii
causes discoloration and shedding of
branches, while C. cardinale is sporadically
injurious.
