DrILL DoWN
Drill down is the process of starting analysis at a high level, with aggregated
data, and narrowing the focus to show detail data. This is typically done using
a list of higher-level dimension items with a drill-down plus sign next to each
and inserting the more detailed items between the drilled member and the
next member. Lower levels are indented to distinguish them. A minus sign
allowing you to drill up is usually included as well. For instance, in a retail
environment, the aggregated levels may be states or regions, showing sales
figures, and drilling down allows you to view individual stores.
