Getting Around
The Orkney Transport Guide, a detailed schedule of all bus, ferry and air services around
and to/from Orkney, is available free from tourist offices.
The largest island, Mainland, is linked by causeways to Burray, South Ronaldsay, Lamb
Holm and Glims Holm; other islands are reached by air and ferry.
Air
Loganair ( 01856-873457; www.loganair.co.uk ) operates interisland flights from Kirk-

Bicycle
Various locations on Mainland hire bikes, including Cycle Orkney Offline map Google map

Bus
Stagecoach ( 01856-870555; www.stagecoachbus.com ) Runs buses on Mainland and
connecting islands. Most don't operate on Sunday. Dayrider (£7.75) and 7-Day Megarider
(£17) tickets allow unlimited travel.
Car
Small-car rates begin at around £34/175 per day/week, although there are specials for as
low as £28 per day.
