Ullapool is a great centre for walking . Good walking books sold at the tourist office in-
clude Walks in Wester Ross (£2.95), or you can pick up a copy of the freebie guide to loc-
al woodland walks.
Ullapool Museum
( www.ullapoolmuseum.co.uk ; 7 West Argyle St; adult/child £3.50/free; 10am-5pm
Mon-Sat Apr-Oct) Housed in a converted Telford Parliamentary church, this museum
relates the prehistoric, natural and social history of the town and Lochbroom area, with a
particular focus on the emigration to Nova Scotia and other places. There's also a genea-
logy section if you want to trace your Scottish roots.

Seascape

the Summer Isles in an orange rigid inflatable boat (RIB).

Summer Queen

Queen takes you out (weather permitting) around Isle Martin (£20/10 per adult/child, two
hours) or to the Summer Isles (£30/15, four hours), with a stop on Tanera Mor.

Ullapool Guitar Festival
( www.ullapoolguitarfestival.com ) Held in early October, this features a series of concerts
and workshops over a weekend, with late-night club sessions and some high-quality musi-
cians on show.
