Royal Dornoch

land's most famous links courses, this was once described by Tom Watson as 'the most
fun I have ever had on a golf course'. It's open to the public, and you can book a slot on-
line. Twilight rates are the most economical way to get a game. A golf pass
( www.dornochfirthgolf.co.uk ) is available that will let you play several courses in the area
at a good discount.

over- backwards host makes you feel truly welcome at this handsome stone house on the
entrance road into town. Views over the firth are complemented by superbly kept contem-
porary rooms with countless small touches that make for a memorable stay. Book ahead,
as some of our readers head for the Highlands just so they can stay here.
