and dance) that seems to take place just about nightly.
Getting There & Away
Bruce Watt Cruises ( 01687-462320; www.knoydart-ferry.co.uk ; one way £11) Pas-
senger ferry linking Mallaig to Inverie (45 minutes) twice daily Monday to Friday from
mid-May to mid-September, and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only the rest of the
year (no weekend ferries). Taking the morning boat gives you four hours ashore in Knoy-
dart before the afternoon return trip.
The afternoon sailing returns via Tarbet on the south side of Loch Nevis, allowing
walkers to hike along the northern shore of Loch Morar to Tarbet and return by boat (£15
Tarbet-Mallaig; Monday and Friday only outside summer season). It's also possible to
join the boat just for the cruise, without going ashore (£20 for Mal-
laig-Inverie-Tarbet-Mallaig).
Sea Bridge Knoydart ( 01687-462916; www.knoydartferry.com ; one way £10; Apr-
Oct) This new passenger ferry service runs from Mallaig to Inverie four times daily in
season (25 minutes), and will carry bikes, canoes and kayaks at no extra charge.
