The family-friendly Moorings is a delightful Victorian lodge with good sea views. It has
an outdoor play area for kids and a high chair in the breakfast room. Vegetarian breakfasts
are not a problem.

Apr-Oct) The island's only official campsite is a steep climb up the winding Serpentine
Rd from the ferry terminal. There's a small but pleasant grassy area for tents amid the stat-
ic caravans, and a handful of pitches for campervans.

Cheerful and informal, the wood-panelled Waterfront has a bistro menu that ranges from
haddock and chips to venison in red-wine sauce, and grilled langoustines with garlic but-
ter. Bottled real ale from the Arran Brewery complements the wine list. No bookings
taken Easter to October - first come, first served.

Sat, dinner Fri & Sat) A friendly neighbourhood brasserie owned by jazz fan Tim (check
out the sheet music and posters on the wall), Brechin's serves unpretentious but delicious
dishes such as popeseye steak with Cafe de Paris butter, and local lamb shank with red-
wine and rosemary sauce.

the former waiting room of a Victorian pier on the eastern edge of town, the Craigmore is
a neat little bistro with fantastic views. The lunch menu offers sandwiches, salads,
homemade burgers and quiche, while Saturday dinner is more sophisticated, with seafood,
steak and roast lamb. Unlicensed, but you can bring your own wine. No credit cards.
