An unusual hostel housed in a converted church. Although some people complain about
noise - there are only thin partitions between dorms, and no ceilings - it's cheerful and
well run with good facilities. This hostel is about 20 minutes' walk west of Waverley train
station. If you're arriving by train from Glasgow or the north, get off at Haymarket sta-
tion, which is much closer.

This well-positioned, good-value hotel has roomy double beds and large baths to soak
away the day's walking aches. It's also one of few options in this price range that has a
lift, which is ideal is you've got lots of baggage. Breakfast is served in the cafe across the
