Four Mile Beach

Backed by palms, this broad stretch of squeaky sand reaches as far as you can squint.
There's a swimming enclosure in front of the surf life-saving club. In ye olde days, planes
used to land on Four Mile, so firm is its sand.
For a fine view over the beach, follow Wharf St and the steep Island Point Rd to Flagstaff
Hill Lookout .

Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas

shortage of wildlife tourist parks in north Queensland, but this one is up there with the
best. The sanctuary endeavours to keep and showcase native animals in enclosures that
mimic their natural environment, while allowing you to get up close to koalas, kangaroos,
crocs, cassowaries and more. Tickets valid for three days. It's 4km from town; head south
along Davidson St.
Come early to have Breakfast with the Birds (adult/child breakfast incl admission $47/23.50;
8-10.30am) or book in for Lunch with the Lorikeets (adult/child incl admission $47/23.50;

noon-2pm) .

this quaint, nondenominational, white timber church was built in 1911.
