Activities
Adrenalin junkies flock to Mission Beach for extreme and water-based sports, including
white-water rafting on the nearby Tully River. If you've got your own board, Bingil Bay
is one of the rare spots inside the reef where it's possible to surf, with small but consistent
swells of around 1m.
Stinger enclosures at Mission Beach and South Mission Beach provide safe year-round
swimming.
The visitor centre has heaps of information on the many superb walking tracks in the
area.
Skydiving
Mission Beach is rightfully one of the most popular spots in Queensland for skydiving.
Two outfits will take you up: Jump the Beach ( 1300 800 840; www.jumpthebeach.com.au ; 9000/11,000/
