AROUND YEPPOON
The drive south from Yeppoon and Rosslyn Bay passes three fine headlands with good
views:
Double Head
,
Bluff Point
and
Pinnacle Point
. After Pinnacle Point, the road crosses
Causeway
Lake
, a saltwater inlet that's a top spot for estuary fishing.
Emu Park
(population 2021), 19km
south of Yeppoon, is the second-largest township on the coast, but there's not much here,
apart from more good views and the
Singing Ship memorial
to Captain Cook - a curious monu-
ment of drilled tubes and pipes that emit mournful whistling and moaning sounds in the
breeze.

explored via the informative guided tours. After watching the man-eaters splash and dash
frighteningly around, get your feeble human revenge by sampling croc kebabs, croc ribs or
a croc pie at the restaurant.
