9am-5pm Mon-Fri, to 1pm Sat & Sun) in the 100-year-old City Hall is extremely helpful and has
free copies of comprehensive self-guided walking tours. Speak with them about inclusive
tickets to Portside's museums and attractions.
Getting There & Away
Both the Sunlander ($75, five hours) and the Tilt Train ($75, 3½ hours) connect Brisbane
with the Maryborough West station, 7km west of the centre. It's connected to the centre
via shuttle bus.
Greyhound Australia ( 1300 473 946; www.greyhound.com.au ) and Premier Motor Service ( 13 34 10;
www.premierms.com.au ) have buses to Gympie ($29, one hour), Bundaberg ($39, three hours)
and Brisbane ($65, 4½ hours).
Wide Bay Transit ( 07-4121 4070; www.widebaytransit.com.au ) has hourly services (fewer on
weekends) between Maryborough and Hervey Bay ($8, one hour), departing from outside
City Hall in Kent St.
