Brisbane's main bus terminus and booking office for long-distance buses is the Brisbane
Transit Centre ( www.brisbanetransitcentre.com.au ; Roma St) . Booking desks for Greyhound

If you're up for a long haul, buses run between Brisbane and Sydney ($185, 16 to 18
hours), Melbourne ($210, 40 hours), Adelaide ($395, 45 to 55 hours) and Darwin ($585,
49 hours), although it's probably going to be just as affordable to fly (if not cheaper…and
a LOT quicker and easier).
Heading south to Byron Bay, there are four daily buses from Brisbane airport ($52,
three hours) and the Brisbane Transit Centre ($38) on Byron Easy Bus ( www.byroneasybus.com.au ) .
North to Cairns, approximate fares and journey times to places along the coast are as

Gold Coast.
Airport to the Sunshine Coast
Sun-Air Bus Service ( www.sunair.com.au ) is one of several operators with direct services from
Brisbane Airport to the Sunshine Coast. Con-x-ion ( Click here ) plies the same route. One-
way fares start at around $40 (to the southern Sunshine Coast areas; more expensive the
further north you go).
