Inside an intimate, two-level brick terrace, Lark serves up artful drinks and in-
ventive fusion fare. Tapas share plates ($11 to $28) involve hits like wagyu sliders and
parmesan-crusted mushrooms, washed down with international wines, crafty beers and
cocktails (go for the Cherry Bourbon Smash). What a lark!

Tucked under-
neath the bigger, flashier Iceworks bar, Dowse Bar is an intimate, retro-quirky booze room
that brings a bit of bearded student/hipster vibe to Paddington. Live acoustic acts croon to
the crowd, who sit on old couches amongst wacky lamps and murals.

The former home of the
Ithaca Iceworks, this splashy watering hole has a long, astroturf-fronted bar with $20 jugs
of Pimms and an open-sided interior that packs crowds on weekends - particularly during
Brisbane Broncos rugby games at Suncorp Stadium across the street. Dowse Bar down-
stairs is more subdued and arty.
