Melbourne's Punthill hotel chain has made a move north, serving up a slice of
hip hotel style in Spring Hill. The lobby is full of retro bicycles and every balcony has a
bird cage with a faux-feathered friend in it…but aside from these quirks, what you can ex-
pect is stylish suites (all taupe, charcoal, ivory and nice art) in a central location for com-
petitive prices. A good option all-round. Parking is $25.

Tucked into a quiet, leafy pocket of Spring Hill, this old-fashioned complex offers good
value for its roomy accommodation. The sizeable apartments are fully self-contained with
kitchens and heritage aesthetics throughout (two with balconies). Weekly stays are the
norm.

This
renovated '70s number presides over a busy intersection and attracts business bods who
just want somewhere central to lie down that won't break the bank. No frills, but trim and
tidy. Free wi-fi and 24-hour reception.
