ing out three million bottles of the good stuff a day. Seeing this much liquid gold in one
spot is awe-inspiring (do your best Homer Simpson drool) - and you get to taste some at
the end of the tour. It's a half-hour drive south of Brisbane. Four-hour bus tours from the
Gold Coast are also an option.

It's held in January at the Queensland Tennis Centre just prior to the Australian Open (in
Melbourne).

Australia Day Cockroach Races

in Kangaroo Point. BYO roach, or you can choose from the house stable. Proceeds go to
charity.

ary/February. Firecrackers, dancing dragons and fantastic food.

mongers at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

Urban Country Festival
( www.urbancountry.com.au ) Four-day country-music fest in May with up to 500 guitar twangers
and nasally bards. Held 45 minutes north of Brisbane in Caboolture (where Keith Urban
grew up…nothing to do with the festival name though).
