Place your cut flowers in water right away so that they don't dry out or start to wilt.
Environment. Just because they are cut doesn't mean your flowers have quit liking the sun! Be
mindful of the sun preferences of your flowers and try to accommodate that.
Flower arrangements brighten your day, and cutting the flowers keeps the plant healthy and growing. It's a
win-win all around!

Also, it doesn't hurt to clean the vase or container before you fill it with water. Bacteria inside the
container could keep the flowers from thriving. That also means that changing the water regularly
is important. Even though you might like a cold drink in the summer, your plants don't. They soak
up the water from soil, which is warm. Florists use lukewarm water, about 100°F.

Fruits and vegetables give off an ethylene gas that will make your flowers wilt faster. So you might want to
rethink your fruit-basket-and-bouquet centerpiece!
Dried Flowers
Have a particular flower or bouquet you want to keep forever? Dried flowers are beautiful in their
own right and will usually retain their fragrance.
