When clipping does, special care must be taken when clipping their belly. Make sure you find the teats and
use scissors to clip a circle around them so you won't accidentally hurt them with the shears!
When shearing the dewlap (the loose skin under the chin) and neck area, use caution. Lots of folds
of skin can make it difficult to trim this area. Don't be afraid to do the shearing in more than one
session—especially if this is the first time for you or your rabbit. Let them stretch, relieve them-
selves if necessary, or get a special treat for being so good during your time together.
The biggest key to successfully harvesting the fiber from your Angora rabbits is a bond of trust
between you and your rabbit. Handling your rabbit early and often is the best way to make that
happen. When your rabbit is comfortable being handled by you, your harvesting will be much
easier, regardless of which methods you use.
